What is V ( Verification and Validation ) Model ?

V Model ( Verification and Validation Model ) : V model is extension of waterfall model and it is based on the association of a testing phase for each and every corresponding development stage. This means that for every single phase in development cycle there is directly associated testing phase. This is highly disciplined model and the next phase starts only after completion of previous stage. Advantages : 1. Very high stability of product. 2. Testing team is involved from the start. 3. Time ans cost effective. Disadvantages : 1. Initial investment is high. 2. If any changes happens in mid way than the test documents along with requirement documents has to be updated. 3. What is Waterfall Model ?

Waterfall Model : Waterfall model is same as SDLC with the difference that in waterfall model testing is done by developers only . Waterfall model was the first software development process model to be introduced. It is also known as Linear Sequential Life Cycle Model. It is very easy to understand and adapt. There is no overlapping between the phases in this model. Every phase must finished before next phase can began. Applications : 1. For short and simple projects. 2. whenever requirement is not going to change. Advantages : 1. Easy to adapt and learn. 2. The product is highly stable. 3. Phases are processed and complete one at a time. Disadvantages : 1. Not suitable for large projects. 2. Not flexible. 3. Downward flow of defect. 4. Back tracking is not possible. 5. Requirement changes in between not possible .

What is Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) ?

Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) : These are the phases of the development of a software or we can say SDLC is a phase in which a software under goes from being an idea of someone's mind to an actual live software. It has 7 phases 1. Requirement Collection 2. Feasibility Study 3.Design a. High level Design b. Low level Design 4. Coding 5.Testing 6. Installation 7. Maintenance 1. Requirement Collection : Collecting or gathering the requirement by going at the client's place is called requirement collection. there are two types of company running in the market A. Product Based B. Service Based Business Analyst (BA) is responsible for collection the requirement in service based company. Product Analyst (PA) is responsible for collecting the requirement in product based company and Pa is also responsible for collecting the feedback of currently running product in the market. 2.
